Super king lettuce is in high demand at the market, where it’s considered one of the cheapest produce available in the U.S. The lettuce, which is grown in the Cardenas and Gardenia neighborhoods of Las Vegas, has become a favorite among locals and tourists alike for its crisp, sweet taste and easy preparation.
Super king can be grown in more than a dozen states and Canada, but Las Vegas is the only city in the country where the product is grown.
Super kings are typically used in salads, soups and wraps, and have been used as a filler for soups, salads and sauces.
